Electrical Engineering Program Educational Objectives

Graduates of the Electrical Engineering Program are expected within a few years of graduation to have:

ELEN-PEO-01. Established themselves as practicing professionals or engaged in an advanced study in an electrical engineering or related area.

ELEN-PEO-02. Received positive recognition and reward for the productive application of their skills and knowledge.

Electrical Engineering Student Outcomes

The Electrical Engineering Program attempts to instill the following outcomes in its students:

ELEN-SO-01. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering.

ELEN-SO-02. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.

ELEN-SO-03. An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.

ELEN-SO-04. An ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.

ELEN-SO-05. An ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems.

ELEN-SO-06. An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.

ELEN-SO-07. An ability to communicate effectively.

ELEN-SO-08. The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.

ELEN-SO-09. A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.

ELEN-SO-10. A knowledge of contemporary issues.

ELEN-SO-11. An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
