Engineering and Technology Management
Welcome to the Engineering and Technology Management Program. Dr. Beth Hegab is the program coordinator and academic advisor for this program. The Engineering and Technology Management program provides training that includes a mix of mathematical, statistical, and risk modeling and analysis. It also includes systems design, engineering management, project management, and financial analysis to enable the graduate to be more effective in technical managerial and leadership roles in a business environment. These skills further develop engineering degrees, practical experience in the field, and business experience with innovative aptitude.
The Engineering and Technology Management Degree is one of two degrees that the College of Engineering and Science offers that can be completed entirely online. The focus is on providing an education to working professionals to enhance their value and mobility in their organization - either commercial or government. In particular, this degree is well suited for people in the armed forces.

Nationwide, the importance and value of this type of graduate degree program which integrates traditional engineering/science and business skills is receiving increased attention and funding. This degree benefits both traditional and emerging business environments rich in innovation and desiring growth in the nations demanding economy. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports an expected 9% national growth rate from 2010 to 2020 in number engineering management jobs, with a median annual income of $119,260. According to the March 2012 Occupational Outlook Handbook, the median salary for engineers of all disciplines requiring bachelor’s degrees was $82,205. This is an increase in salary of $37,055 to move from engineer to engineering manager.
Louisiana Tech is uniquely qualified to offer this type of program. Dr. B. Hegab has both a B.S. and M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering as well as a MBA and a Doctorate in Business (finance). Dr. Easley has a B.S. degree in Management with a M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. Dr. Ker is the Program Chair of Industrial Engineering and brings nearly 25 years of experience with a long history of working with area companies to improve and optimize processes. He has his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. Dr. Cronk has a B.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, providing unique skills in the area of human factors, ergonomics, project management, and engineering administration.

The Industrial Engineering Program dates back to 1955 with over 700 alumni, many of whom have risen to the highest ranks in Fortune 500 companies. Louisiana Tech has offered a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering since 1970. The Engineering and Technology Management degree program was established in 2001 at Louisiana Tech University to provide a combination of the strengths of the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and business courses to prepare future leaders.
