Tolbert C. "Buck" Pipes

In recognition of outstanding service and leadership in the engineering profession.
Tolbert C. "Buck" Pipes graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in May 1933.
After graduation from Louisiana Tech, Mr. Pipes formed his own business in the timber industry.
Because of his dedication to the College of Engineering, he established The Pipes Foundation in 1977 to serve as a philanthropic organization to support the College of Engineering. His financial support was instrumental in establishing an Eminent Scholar Faculty Chair in 1989.
He contributed leadership to the Louisiana Tech Engineering Foundation by serving as a Director from 1982 to 1988.
The support and dedication of Mr. Pipes to the Department, the College and the University will long be remembered by the many students who were helped through his generosity to achieve their goal of graduation in Engineering.
