COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING & SCIENCE
CyberCorps Scholarship Program
In response to the critical shortage of highly trained professionals in cybersecurity, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Louisiana Tech University a $3.5 million grant through their CyberCorps®: Scholarship for Service (SFS) program (https://www.sfs.opm.gov/).
Over the course of the next five years, this CyberCorps® grant will help increase the national cybersecurity workforce by providing scholarships for 30 Louisiana Tech students (U.S. citizens only). Recipients will complete a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a Cybersecurity concentration, a Cyber Engineering degree, and/or a master’s degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University, and, afterward, are expected to secure a position with the government (federal/state/local/tribal) and national labs to defend the nation in cyberspace. Louisiana Tech is among an elite list of 100 higher education institutions in the nation that run this program.
With the CyberCorps® program, both Louisiana Tech undergraduate and graduate students will benefit immensely. For each year in the SFS program, students’ benefits include:
-
- Full coverage of all tuition,
- $6,000 for professional development/travel reimbursement and
- $27,000 as a stipend (for undergraduates) and $37,000 as a stipend (for graduate students).
Louisiana Tech’s CyberCorps® is a hybrid program that offers two paths for students: a Bachelor’s Degree Only program and a Bachelor’s + Master’s Degree program.
